Youth and the Law Learning and Support Services

In partnership with the Singapore Association for Women Lawyers (SAWL), and the leading South-East Asian Law Firm Allen and Gledhill (A&G), YWAS is proud to present to you the Youth and the Law Learning and Support Services.

The Learning and Support Services takes after the name of the book Youth and the Law. The book is written by director of the Legal Aid Bureau Min Lim, and Allen & Gledhill Partner Lim Lei Theng, with the help of the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), judges, lawyers and National University of Singapore law students.

The Youth and the Law Learning and Support Services are for youth work practitioners and organizations who are members of YWAS. The main supporting resource for these services is the book. This means if there were legal issues where answers are in the book, we will refer beneficiaries to the book directly. It is foundational. Otherwise, as a result of the tripartite partnership, members will have access to lawyers via the following two ways – Learning Labs & Legal Clinics.

We also have a Ask Aunty Amica segment. Aunty Amica is friendly and helpful. She is here to help answer any legal questions you might have relating to youth crime or youth and the law.

She will try her best to answer your questions, but if she feels it is best for you to meet one of her friendly lawyer-friends, she will inform you, and you can choose whether to meet her friend or not.
